Summertime, 2013 – Chelsea
Where is your family from?
“I was born and raised in Seattle and my whole family goes a few generations back in the Pacific Northwest. Sometimes I feel like the trees and mountains are in my blood.”
You moved away from New York, will you come back?
“Absolutely. The intensity of New York wore me out, I missed the forest and mountains back home but the longer I am away the more I miss the city. In being away from New York I’ve realized how much I belong there. The infectious energy of the city is incomparable. I find it endlessly inspiring to be a part of such a creative and passionate community, I can’t wait to be back.”
Do you have a secret dream? You should say it out loud.
“That’s hard for me to answer because I think I’ve always had my head in the clouds, I am constantly dreaming and imagining. I suppose my biggest dream and most secret dream is to spend my life making art, it’s something that most people don’t know about me. My dad is a painter and photographer so art has always been a part of my life, for me it’s vital. To spend my life imagining and creating would be a dream come true.”
Modeling is a job that you ____ (fill in the blank)
“Must make an opportunity. Through modeling I have traveled the world and met some of the most dear and unforgettable people in my life (you!). I have been to places that I never would have seen and have been exposed to some of the most interesting and inspiring people. Modeling is a job but the gateway of opportunity that it provides is pretty incredible and I think that it has to be taken advantage of.”
Your most favorite adventure, go.
“Right now! Everything is unknown for me for the first time in a long time, its an amazing and liberating feeling. Creating your own destiny is unbelievably exciting.”
Spencer left New York not too long ago. You might say, leaving New York is almost as hard as making it in New York. I thought it was very brave of Spencer to temporarily bounce out.
Since I’ve know Spencer she has been a model. She and her best friend, Taylor Warren always laughing, so pretty, so fun, and perfectly photogenic. Sounds like a clean and clear commercial, right? It wasn’t just that tho. You could tell there was more going on for both of them, more that maybe they hadn’t yet realized.
Introduce here, instagram. I’ve been able to know what’s up with Spencer from afar via the content she shares on instagram. I am surprised and awed by her artist talents. See what I mean @SPENCERANNEP
The polaroid above is from a LoveShackFancy lookbook shoot with photographer Anna Palma, designer Rebecca Cohen, and Creative Director Nancy Hessel Weber.
The shot below is from an editorial shoot in Nashville, TN. In three days we had a our fashion story, danced with cowboys, Rebecca bought a major fur coat and I f##ked up catering but we had one of the best times you could ever have.
